Welcome to Email Fraud Alert. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Email Fraud Alert browser extension, Outlook add-in, and related services (the "Service") operated by EFA, LLC ("we," "our," or "us").

By using our Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Description of Service

Email Fraud Alert is a fraud detection tool that analyzes email metadata to identify potential wire fraud, phishing, and email impersonation attempts. The Service provides warnings and alerts to help you identify suspicious emails.

IMPORTANT: Email Fraud Alert is an aid to help detect potential fraud. It is NOT a guarantee against fraud. You are solely responsible for verifying all wire transfer instructions, payment requests, and sender identities through independent means (such as calling known phone numbers) before taking any action.

2. No Guarantee Against Fraud

While our Service is designed to detect common fraud patterns, we cannot and do not guarantee that:

  • All fraudulent emails will be detected
  • All warnings indicate actual fraud
  • You will not experience financial loss from fraud
  • The Service will be error-free or uninterrupted

You acknowledge that sophisticated fraud attempts may evade detection, and you remain responsible for exercising caution with all financial transactions.

3. Subscription and Payment

Pricing: The Service is offered on a subscription basis at the current rate displayed at time of purchase.

Billing: Subscriptions are billed monthly. Payment is processed through Stripe.

Cancellation: You may cancel your subscription at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period. No refunds are provided for partial billing periods.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree NOT to:

  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Service
  • Use the Service for any illegal purpose
  • Attempt to bypass any security features
  • Share your subscription with others
  • Use the Service to harm others or facilitate fraud
  • Resell or redistribute the Service without authorization

5. Intellectual Property

The Service, including all code, design, text, and graphics, is owned by EFA, LLC and protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive license to use the Service for its intended purpose.

6. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL DETECT ALL FRAUDULENT EMAILS OR PREVENT FINANCIAL LOSS.

7. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, EFA, LLC SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

  • FINANCIAL LOSSES FROM WIRE FRAUD OR OTHER SCAMS
  • LOSS OF DATA OR BUSINESS INTERRUPTION
  • DAMAGES ARISING FROM UNDETECTED FRAUD
  • DAMAGES ARISING FROM FALSE POSITIVE WARNINGS

OUR TOTAL LIABILITY SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR THE SERVICE IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.

8. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless EFA, LLC, its officers, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the Service or violation of these Terms.

9. Privacy

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.

10. Modifications to Service

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service at any time, with or without notice. We may also update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

11. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your access to the Service at any time for violation of these Terms or for any other reason at our discretion. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Orange County, California.

13. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.

14. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and EFA, LLC regarding the Service.
